Surge Modelling and Water Hammer Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Transient / Surge Engineer to lead surge and water hammer studies for large water supply and pipeline projects. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in surge modelling tools and a solid understanding of pump systems, pipeline hydraulics, and protection devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform surge / transient analysis for pipelines, pumping mains, and valve operations.
• Model scenarios such as pump trip, valve closure, power failure, air pocket formation, pressure spikes.
• Use surge modelling software such as Bentley HAMMER, AFT Impulse/Fathom, WANDA etc..
• Recommend suitable surge protection devices (air valves, PRVs, vacuum breakers, surge tanks).
• Prepare surge reports, design notes, and protection layouts.
• Coordinate with design teams for pipelines, pumps, and valves.
• Provide support during site visits for data collection or troubleshooting (as needed).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Civil/Mechanical/Water Resources Engineering.
• 8–12 years of experience in hydraulic surge or transient analysis.
• Experience with at least one major surge software tool.
• Strong understanding of pipeline hydraulics, pump systems, valve operations.
• Good communication and report writing skills.
