Role Overview

As a Study Abroad Counselor, you will be the primary point of contact for students exploring overseas study opportunities. You’ll assess each student’s academic profile, career aspirations, and financial considerations to recommend optimal programs and institutions. Your expertise will ensure smooth end-to-end support—from initial consultation through application submission and post-arrival acclimatization.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Advising: Conduct one-on-one consultations (in-person, telephonic, and virtual) to understand students’ backgrounds, goals, and preferences.
• Program Matching: Research and recommend universities, courses, and scholarship options tailored to each student’s profile.
• Application Management: Assist students in preparing and reviewing application materials (essays, CVs, recommendation letters) and ensure timely submission.
• Visa & Immigration Support: Guide students through visa application processes, document preparation, and pre-departure orientation.
• Market Research: Stay up-to-date on admission requirements, scholarship deadlines, and visa regulations for key study destinations.
• Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong ties with university admissions teams, education fairs, and other stakeholders.
• Reporting & Targets: Track counseling metrics, conversion rates, and revenue targets; prepare regular progress reports for management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, International Relations, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: 1–3 years in education consulting, student recruitment, or related counseling roles—preferably in study abroad services.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills; proficiency in Punjabi and/or Hindi is highly desirable.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with students and families.
• Organizational Ability: Detail-oriented, with the capacity to manage multiple cases and deadlines concurrently.
• Tech Savvy: Comfortable using CRM systems, application portals, and virtual meeting platforms.
• Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of global higher-education systems, scholarship schemes, and visa procedures.
