About the Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in guiding, motivating, and listening to students. Your responsibility is to help them stay focused on their studies, assist them through challenges, and collaborate with teachers and families to build a nurturing and encouraging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and Motivate Students

• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support both academic and personal growth.
• Lead engaging and purposeful activities outside the classroom that foster confidence and character.
• Serve as a supportive presence and a reliable point of contact when students need guidance or someone to talk to.

Monitor Academic Progress

• Regularly check students’ academic performance and overall progress.
• Identify strengths and areas where additional support may be required.
• Collaborate with teachers to create simple, targeted learning plans when necessary.
• Follow up consistently to ensure improvement and sustained motivation.

Engage with Parents

• Provide parents with timely updates on their child’s progress.
• Participate in meetings to discuss strategies and goals for student success.
• Offer practical suggestions to help parents support learning at home.

Maintain Student Records

• Keep accurate and organized records of attendance, academic progress, and behavior.
• Use basic digital tools and spreadsheets to track performance and update support plans.
• Ensure all reports are clear, current, and accessible to the team.
