Job Description

Compensation offered:



1. Counselling & Guidance

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students regarding academic programs, career pathways, and personal development.
  • Assess student needs, interests, and goals to recommend suitable programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and a supportive approach in all counselling interactions.

2. Admissions & Onboarding

  • Engage with prospective students (and parents, where applicable) to explain program offerings, eligibility criteria, and career outcomes.
  • Assist with application forms, document collection, and enrolment processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct orientation sessions for new students.

3. Academic & Personal Support

  • Monitor student progress and identify at-risk students for timely intervention.
  • Provide resources for stress management, study skills, and time management.
  • Liaise with faculty to ensure students’ concerns are addressed appropriately.

4. Career & Placement Support

  • Guide students on career prospects, industry expectations, and skill requirements.
  • Support placement and internship preparation (CV building, interview preparation, etc.).
  • Collaborate with placement/industry teams to match students to opportunities.

5. Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate student records, counselling notes, and reports.
  • Provide timely updates to management regarding student engagement, dropouts, and challenges.
  • Participate in promotional activities such as workshops, seminars, or career fairs.


Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Additional certification in Counselling, Career Guidance, or Student Engagement is desirable.


Experience:

  • 2–4 years of experience in student counselling, academic advising, or a related role (experience in training institutes, schools, or colleges preferred).


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and active listening ability.
  • Knowledge of academic and career counselling best practices.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and student management systems (if any).
