Structure Engineer (NHAI)

Job Summary:

The Structural Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity and safety of structures in construction projects. This role involves working closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop designs that meet safety standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The Structural Engineer will provide expertise in ensuring that buildings, bridges, and other structures can withstand environmental, physical, and operational stresses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze the structural components of Road, bridges, and other infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other team members to develop structural designs that align with the overall project vision and client needs.
• Conduct site visits to assess the progress of construction and ensure that the implemented structures are built according to design specifications.
• Perform structural calculations to ensure that materials and structures can withstand anticipated loads, stresses, and environmental factors.
• Prepare and review detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Review project documents (plans, specifications) for structural integrity, safety, and compliance with building codes.
• Oversee the work of junior engineers and assist in their development through mentoring and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and industry standards such as AISC, Eurocodes, and local building codes.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure materials are appropriate for the design and meet the required quality standards.
• Review and approve submittals, change orders, and shop drawings related to structural components.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide solutions to mitigate structural issues during the construction process.
• Work with the project team to resolve any design issues that arise during the construction phase.
• Provide technical support and recommendations for structural repairs and retrofits.
• Stay current with industry advancements, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions in structural design.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status preferred (depending on the country/region).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer in the construction or related industry.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS).
• In-depth knowledge of structural materials (steel, concrete, wood, etc.) and their properties.
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction practices, and local regulations.
• Experience with the design and analysis of both residential and commercial structures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient building designs is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel to construction sites for inspections and site evaluations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working in a collaborative, client-facing environment is a plus
