Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Structural Engineer located in Chennai. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing structures, analyzing data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role involves working closely with other engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for diverse projects. Daily tasks may include site inspections, coordinating with contractors, and contributing to project planning and execution.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Structural Engineer with knowledge of civil structural design and engineering techniques.

Experience in the oil & gas industry is an added advantage.

Perform structural calculations independently and lead projects to deliver quality reports and drawings.

Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, application, and compliance with codes, standards, specifications, and criteria.

Prepare method statements and job analysis reports based on site requirements.

Devise new approaches to structural engineering problems and provide workable solutions within budget and resources.

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines across multiple offices through effective professional communication.

Design knowledge in crane lifting and scaffolding is an added advantage.

Proficient in structural calculation software such as STAAD Pro.

Familiar with 3D modeling tools like Navisworks.

Ability to read and interpret geotechnical reports.

Drawing preparation skills with AutoCAD will be an added advantage.

Generate multiple design options considering structural feasibility, site constraints, cost, and schedule implications.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for effective communication of complex issues across teams.

Prepare drawings for own designs and sketches for incorporation into final drawings.

Handle, draft, organize, store, and retrieve inputs and outputs of structural deliverables.
