Structural Design Manager

• Manage timely delivery of Civil, Architectural, and Structural design meeting quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Oversee the design process/workflow to meet internal quality, execution and project requirements.
• Implementation of QMS procedures in all stages of design development.
• Validate application of relevant PTS, Utility, and International Standards for a particular project.
• Motivate and encourage design and engineering team.
• Work with clients to ensure that their expectations are accomplished.
• Mentor the team for proper documentation of projects correspondence, documents and drawings in line with companys Document Management System.
• Engineering estimate and technical proposal for tendering/bidding process.
• Engage in continuous learning and keep updated with relevant standards, codes, and regulations for respective discipline works and project execution.
• Support Engineering Manager / Project Manager to monitor progress and budget by furnishing necessary inputs for respective section.
• Cooperate with other discipline and functional sections for day-to-day operations.
• Chair design meetings, writing reports and giving presentations.
• Identification of training needs for section team members and provide the details to the training department for their implementation.

Skills Requirements (Technical Competencies)

• Good knowledge for the analysis and design of Structural design for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations and transmission lines from base design, detail design to IFC stage for buildings, steel structures, equipment foundation and connection design.
• Knowledge of reviewing and guiding designers for the preparation of architectural, civil and structural drawings for building including Steel fabrication drawings.
• Good Knowledge of analysis and design of Infrastructure projects of solar plant, water pumping station and service utilities from concept design to IFC stage.
• Familiar with relevant codes & standards American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Building Code (IBC), American Society of Structure Engineers (ASCE), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software – SAP, STAAD Pro, GT Strudel, MS Excel, drafting tools, 3D platform and document management systems.
• Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and local regulations.
• Client coordination, ability to work independently and as a part of team.
• Strong knowledge in preparing specifications, basis of design, engineering alternative solutions, BOQs and Value engineering.
• Passionate about structural and Structure engineering. Be a creative leader in design and project management.
• Have excellent technical skills and be able to mentor staff in their own development and the development of projects.
• Excellent communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a good command over English.
