Job Description

Job Purpose

The Stress Piping Engineer is responsible for performing stress analysis of piping systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. The role involves close coordination with piping design, process, civil, and mechanical teams to deliver safe and reliable piping systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform piping flexibility and stress analysis using software such as CAESAR II (or equivalent).
  • Evaluate piping systems for thermal, pressure, dynamic, seismic, and occasional load conditions.
  • Ensure piping stress analysis meets international codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.).
  • Review and validate piping layouts, support locations, and specifications from design teams.
  • Provide recommendations for supports, expansion joints, spring hangers, and other stress-relieving devices.
  • Coordinate with process, civil/structural, mechanical, and equipment teams to resolve interface issues.
  • Prepare stress analysis reports, support design documentation, and technical deliverables.
  • Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and client meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in piping stress analysis within EPC, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME B31.1, B31.3, NEMA, API, etc.).
  • Proficiency in CAESAR II (or equivalent stress analysis tools).
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools (PDMS, E3D, SmartPlant, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of material specifications, fabrication, and construction practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
