STP Operator

Job Summary

The Containerized STP Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the containerized sewage treatment plant. The role ensures that the plant functions efficiently, meets environmental compliance standards, and delivers treated water within specified quality parameters.

Key Responsibilities

• Plant Operation:

• Operate and monitor all mechanical, electrical, and control systems of the containerized STP.
• Start, stop, and adjust equipment as per standard operating procedures.
• Ensure smooth running of pumps, filters and other plant components.

• Water Quality Monitoring:

• Conduct regular sampling and on-site testing for parameters such as pH, BOD, COD, TSS, turbidity, and residual chlorine.
• Record and maintain accurate water quality data and submit reports as required.

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks like lubrication, cleaning, and replacement.
• Report breakdowns, troubleshoot minor issues, and assist in repairs.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.

• Compliance & Safety:

• Follow environmental regulations, company safety standards, and PPE requirements.
• Ensure treated water meets discharge/reuse standards set by local authorities.

• Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain daily logbooks of plant operations, test results, and maintenance activities.
• Report abnormalities or deviations in plant performance to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Certification in STP operation or wastewater treatment is an advantage.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in operating STP/ETP plants, preferably containerized or compact units.

Skills:

• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to read and understand process flow diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Basic troubleshooting of pumps, filters, instruments and control panels.
• Good record-keeping and reporting skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in outdoor/industrial environments.
• Capable of lifting moderate weights and performing physical tasks.
• Ability to travel frequently
