The Role
The Restaurant Steward/Server is the face of our establishment, responsible for ensuring every guest has a delightful and seamless dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, an in-depth understanding of restaurant menu dishes and sweets, and a proactive, guest-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Experience
- Menu Expertise: Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all food items (main courses, appetizers, breads, beverages) and their preparation methods.
- Sweets Specialization: Be an expert on the Mithai/Sweets menu, including ingredients, cultural significance, and recommendations (e.g., suggesting a specific sweet after a meal, explaining shelf-life for take-out).
- Order Management: Take food and beverage orders accurately, using the POS system efficiently, and communicating special requests or dietary needs to the kitchen.
- Service Delivery: Serve food and beverages in a timely, precise, and professional manner, adhering to high standards of presentation and hygiene.
- Issue Resolution: Handle guest complaints and concerns with patience and tact, escalating issues to the manager when necessary.
Operations & Maintenance
- Set-Up & Close-Down: Prepare the dining area before opening (setting tables, checking cleanliness) and perform thorough closing duties (cleaning, resetting, securing unused items).
- Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain impeccably clean dining areas, service stations, silverware, glassware, and serving utensils throughout the shift.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, hosts, and other service personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Sales & Recommendations
- Upselling: Strategically suggest appetizers, desserts, and premium beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase check value, with a focus on seasonal and specialty sweets.
- Packaging: Expertly package sweets/mithai and takeaway food orders, ensuring accurate labeling and secure handling.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar Steward/Server role, preferably in a full-service restaurant. Experience with North Indian cuisine is a significant advantage.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English is a plus.
- Customer Focus: A natural ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver service with a genuine smile and positive attitude.
- Product Knowledge: Demonstrable enthusiasm for learning about and explaining North Indian dishes and traditional Indian sweets.
- Ethics: High standard of personal hygiene and professional appearance.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
