Steel Detailer (CAD)

Job Brief:

Urbanaac is seeking a sharp and detail-oriented Precast Detailer to review, approve, and coordinate precast shop drawings produced by outsourced structural consultants. The role demands a strong understanding of BBS (Bar Bending Schedules), MEP conduit integration, and precast construction practices. The ideal candidate will serve as a crucial link between design consultants, the factory, and the site teams—ensuring constructability, accuracy, and error-free coordination.

Job Location : Prahladnagar , Ahmedabad

Roles And Responsibilities:

-Thoroughly review and approve precast shop drawings, with a focus on:

o Dimensional and structural accuracy

o Bar Bending Schedules (BBS)

o Conduit routing and MEP embed provisions

o Consistency with architectural and service drawings

-Coordinate with outsourced structural consultants to identify, document, and resolve errors, clashes, and inconsistencies.

-Perform technical reviews of all incoming drawings before they are sent for production.

-Highlight issues related to precast connections, lifting inserts, and handling/erection concerns.

-Act as a technical liaison between consultants, factory production team, and site execution team.

-Track and manage drawing revisions, consultant updates, and final approvals systematically.

-Maintain documentation of changes, approvals, and coordination notes for internal records.

Education/Qualification:

Diploma / BE Civil

Work Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in precast detailing, structural drafting, or coordination.

Skill Sets:

-Strong command over AutoCAD, with the ability to read and cross-check structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.

-Good understanding of precast production processes, reinforcement detailing, and MEP embed planning.

-Ability to proactively identify and flag constructability issues.

-Strong communication skills for effective coordination with consultants and internal teams.

-Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to reviewing technical drawings.

Preferred Skills:

-Familiarity with Tekla Structures, Revit, or other BIM tools.

-Understanding of IS codes and standards for precast structures.

-Previous experience coordinating outsourced design teams or vendors.
