Staff Nurse

Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for diagnostic tests (e.g., X-ray, MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, ECG, laboratory procedures, etc.). Take and record vital signs, medical history, and patient information before tests. Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure care and instructions. Monitor patient condition during and after diagnostic procedures. Assistance in Diagnostic Procedures: Assist radiologists, pathologists, or technicians during diagnostic procedures. Prepare and maintain equipment and instruments required for tests. Handle specimen collection (blood, urine, etc.) safely and correctly label them. Infection Control & Safety: Follow aseptic and infection control practices. Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital and government regulations. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the diagnostic area. Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and test details. Document nursing care, observations, and any complications during procedures. Assist in preparing daily reports and submitting data to supervisors. Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with doctors, lab technicians, and administrative staff for smooth workflow. Communicate effectively with patients and their attendants regarding procedures and care instructions. Handle patient queries courteously and maintain confidentiality. Emergency Management: Recognize and respond promptly to patient emergencies during diagnostic tests. Provide basic life support (BLS) if required and assist in emergency management. Quality and Compliance: Adhere to NABH or other quality standards applicable to diagnostic centers. Participate in audits, training, and quality improvement programs. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and professional nursing ethics. Qualifications and Experience:Education: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (Registered with State Nursing Council). Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, diagnostic center, or clinical setup preferred. Skills Required: Patient care and communication skills. Knowledge of diagnostic procedures and medical equipment. Emergency response and infection control knowledge. Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation. Working Conditions:Shift duties as per center schedule. Exposure to patients, diagnostic equipment, and biological samples. Must adhere to safety and ethical standards at all times.
