Job Description

Job Summary:

STA Engineer (Supplier Technical Assistance Engineer)

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and approve new suppliers through audits, assessments, and technical reviews
Monitor and improve supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and compliance
Provide technical support to suppliers to ensure part quality and manufacturability
Work closely with suppliers on PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP, and FMEA documentation
Investigate supplier quality issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa)
Collaborate with internal teams (Quality, Engineering, Procurement) to support new product launches
Conduct process capability studies and ensure process control at supplier facilities
Implement supplier development programs and continuous improvement plans
Manage supplier scorecards and KPIs
Support localization and cost-saving initiatives by evaluating alternate suppliers and processes
Ensure compliance with industry and customer-specific standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the automotive or heavy engineering industry
Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Systems
Proficient in using MS Office, Minitab, and ERP systems
Knowledge of international quality standards and customer-specific requirements (e.g., VW, Toyota, Ford)
