Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Manager Learning & Development is responsible for driving the organization's talent development strategy, overseeing staff training initiatives, strengthening leadership capabilities, and creating a culture of continuous learning across all Prayer Towers, departments, and ministry units. This role ensures all employees are trained, equipped, and enabled to excel in their roles while aligning with the ministry's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

L&D Strategy & Planning :

Develop and implement the organization-wide Learning & Development strategy.

Conduct annual training needs analysis to identify skill gaps across departments.

Align all training initiatives with organizational goals and ministry standards.

Training Program Development :

  • Design and deliver training programs for:
  • Induction & onboarding
  • Leadership & supervisory development
  • Ministry-specific training (Prayer Tower, Partner Services, Media, etc.)
  • Soft skills, communication, and behavioural training
  • Create structured training calendars for all locations.

Training Delivery & Facilitation :

  • Facilitate in-house training sessions (classroom and virtual).
  • Manage external trainers, consultants, and ministry speakers when needed.
  • Ensure quality, engaging, and impactful training experiences.

Performance & Skill Development :

  • Develop competency frameworks for different roles.
  • Support performance improvement plans with targeted development programs.
  • Coach managers and team leads to help build internal training capability.

Leadership Development :

  • Create leadership pipelines and succession planning frameworks.
  • Implement programs that strengthen managerial and spiritual leadership.

Content & Curriculum Creation :

  • Develop manuals, SOPs, e-learning modules, and training materials.
  • Ensure all content reflects ministry values, communication standards, and best practices.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting :

  • Track participation, progress, and training effectiveness using KPIs.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly L&D reports to management.
  • Continuously improve programs based on feedback and data insights.

Coordination & Cross-Functional Support :

  • Work closely with HR, Prayer Tower Operations, Partner Services, Media, and Administration teams.
  • Support organizational change initiatives through training.
