Role Overview

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design and development of heavy industrial machines and Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The role requires advanced mechanical design expertise, leadership skills, and hands‑on experience in machine design, automation, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of heavy machines and SPMs from concept to final detailing
• Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation using CAD tools
• Perform mechanism design, kinematic analysis, load calculations, and tolerance analysis
• Select appropriate components (motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, actuators)
• Collaborate with electrical, automation, and production teams for machine integration
• Guide junior engineers and provide technical mentorship
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare design concepts based on customer requirements
• Support machine assembly, testing, and commissioning at the shop floor and client sites
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement improvements
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality norms, and industry regulations
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in machine design

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Inventor / CATIA
• Deep understanding of machine design principles, kinematics, and heavy machinery mechanisms
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems
• Experience in SPM design, fixtures, jigs, conveyors, and custom machinery
• Familiarity with fabrication, machining, and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills
• Ability to lead design projects and manage cross‑functional collaboration
• Good communication and documentation skills

Qualification

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• Additional training in machine design or automation preferred

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
