Sr. Manager Quality

**Role Purpose**

To lead and oversee all quality control and assurance activities in the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) and Rolling Mill operations, ensuring production of high-quality steel products as per national & international standards, customer specifications, and compliance requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Quality Management & Control**

* Develop and implement quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures for SMS and Rolling Mill.

* Ensure compliance with BIS, ISO, and other relevant quality standards.

* Oversee chemical, physical, and mechanical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.

* Maintain calibration, testing, and certification of laboratory equipment.

* Establish quality benchmarks and monitor product performance against them.

**Operational Excellence**

* Ensure steel grades are produced within desired chemical and mechanical properties.

* Monitor ladle refining, continuous casting, reheating furnace, and rolling parameters to ensure consistency.

* Identify process deviations and lead corrective & preventive actions.

* Drive zero-defect initiatives, reduce rejection and rework.

**Leadership & Team Development**

* Lead and manage QC/QA teams in SMS & Rolling Mill.

* Train and mentor team members on quality systems and industry best practices.

* Coordinate with production, maintenance, and dispatch teams for smooth workflow.

**Compliance & Documentation**

* Maintain and update quality records, test certificates, inspection reports, and customer documentation.

* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements.

* Interface with third-party inspection agencies and auditors.

**Customer & Stakeholder Interaction**

* Handle customer complaints and feedback related to quality issues.

* Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.

* Participate in customer audits and build customer confidence in product quality.

### **Key Skills & Competencies**

* Strong knowledge of SMS processes (EAF/IF, LRF, CCM) and Rolling Mill operations.

* In-depth understanding of metallurgical properties of steel.

* Hands-on experience in spectrometer analysis, UTM, hardness, microstructure testing.

* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

* Strong leadership and communication abilities.

* Knowledge of QMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) & BIS standards.

### **Qualification & Experience**

* B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgy / BSC/MSC Chemistry

* 12–20 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control in Steel Industry, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role in SMS & Rolling Mill.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
