Be hands-on with valve assembly and familiar with tools like Torque wrench, Hydraulic tools and metrology instruments like calipers, slip gauges etc. to handle valve parts and assembly for valve sizes ranging from 2” to 36”. Experience with handling larger valve sizes is added advantage.
Be familiar with the test objectives and adopt a pragmatic approach to ensure completion of testing without compromising safety or overlooking critical parameters that significantly impact the measured outcomes.
· Must have strong English speaking communication skills.
· Work closely and collaborate with Domestic and International Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Assembly personnel.
· Improvise the test method/procedure as required to record critical parameters without compromising the test intent and communicate changes to others.
· Identify and engage third-party laboratories, both locally and internationally, to leverage existing testing infrastructure and avoid capital-intensive in-house setups—particularly for specialized tests that require third-party involvement or where certain labs are renowned for their expertise.
· If required, Involve Third Party Inspection (TPI) to qualify the testing to improve the credibility of test report from customer perspective.
· Ensure thorough review and understanding of relevant international standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO, EN) that form the basis for valve testing protocols, including pressure testing, seat leakage classification, fugitive emissions testing, and functional testing requirements.
· Experience in testing the valves per International standards like ISO 15848, API 6FA, API 607, API 624 etc.
· Performs tests with strict adherence to the test plan.
· Prepare test report by capturing details like known inputs, variables under evaluation or under measurement, test setup etc.
· Familiarity to Electrical actuators like Rotork, AUMA etc.
· Familiarity to Pneumatic actuator and accessories like AFR, SOV, AOV, FCV etc.
· Familiarity to Hydraulic actuator parts like control manifold, reservoir tank, pump & its motor, Accumulator etc.
· Ensure that the test methods, test valve configurations, and test results are treated as company proprietary information when engaging with external parties.
· Exposure to Electrical and Instrumentation devices like Limit switch, Relays, thermocouples, timer, PT etc., experience with PLC I/O’s and programming is an added advantage.
· Exposure to Milling, Turning, Cutting, Bending and general assembly is preferred.
· Exposure to welding methods and broad understanding of WPS is an added advantage.
· Proactively design (using SolidWorks model, drawings etc.) necessary fixtures to perform the identified testing, where required take support of engineering personnel to ensure fixture rigidity.
· Utilize existing PDM/PLM Systems as applicable to create new parts, modify existing parts to avoid duplicates, follow the guidelines in creating new parts etc.
· Diploma or Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) is required.
· About 10 year’s experience in valve manufacturing industry environment that supply valves to Oil Refinery, Petrochemicals, Gas process units, Slurry etc. applications.
