Ensure uninterrupted operation of the 220/33 kV pooling substation, including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and SCADA.
Monitor equipment parameters and performance in real-time using SCADA/RTU systems.
Coordinate with SLDC/ALDC for load flow, grid synchronization, and outage scheduling.
Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules (transformers, CBs, isolators, CTs/PTs, LA, batteries, etc.) as per OEM and grid norms.
Carry out condition monitoring and diagnostics – oil testing, DGA, thermography, contact resistance measurement, etc.
Troubleshoot and restore systems during faults/breakdowns with minimum downtime.
Inspect transmission lines (patrolling, thermography, tower foundation health, insulator checking).
Execute maintenance jobs like tightening, insulator replacement, jumper repairs, etc.
Maintain line clearance coordination with SLDCs during shutdowns and repairs.
Ensure periodic testing of protection relays, breaker timings, and scheme logic.
Investigate tripping incidents and maintain event logs and relay coordination settings.
Coordinate with OEMs or third-party agencies for specialized testing.
Ensure compliance with all grid codes (CEA, CERC, IEC, etc.), statutory inspections, and safety protocols.
Maintain documentation including maintenance logs, test reports, asset history, single-line diagrams, and shutdown reports.
Enforce LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out) and permit systems during maintenance.
Manage AMC vendors, testing agencies, and spare inventory.
Supervise junior engineers, technicians, and contractors for O&M activities.
Prepare and submit monthly O&M reports, failure analysis, and KPIs.
