As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that powers enterprise-level platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into efficient, reliable, and high-performance data pipelines. The role involves implementing ETL/ELT processes, managing cloud-native data platforms, ensuring data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize robust data pipelines for batch and streaming data, handling structured and unstructured datasets
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes to load and transform data into warehouses and analytics platforms with high accuracy
- Develop scalable data architectures using cloud-native technologies and modern data platforms
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to deliver actionable data solutions
- Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring systems, and governance practices to ensure reliability and compliance
- Troubleshoot and optimize data platform performance, including query optimization and data model improvements
- Maintain and enhance data infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and cost-effectiveness
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence, code quality, and continuous learning
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering with production-scale data systems
- Expert proficiency in Python and data processing libraries (PySpark, Pandas, NumPy)
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in query optimization and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse
- Strong background in ETL/ELT processes using orchestration and transformation tools (Apache Airflow, dbt, Fivetran, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and services like S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Kinesis
- Familiarity with streaming data technologies such as Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, data vault, wide tables, denormalization)
- Experience with data governance and quality tools (Atlan, Alation, Collibra, Monte Carlo, Great Expectations)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with global, distributed teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus
