Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with 6+ years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and architectures. The ideal candidate will take ownership of complex data systems, lead data engineering initiatives, and play a key role in shaping our organization’s data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and high-performance data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Architect and implement data models, warehouses, and data lakes to support analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence.
• Lead efforts to modernize data platforms using cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to deliver clean, reliable, and accessible data.
• Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes, automating data ingestion and transformation workflows.
• Optimize performance of databases and big data systems for efficiency and scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to establishing data engineering standards and frameworks.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve data infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data architecture roles.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proven experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or Flink.
• Strong experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake).
• Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL design, and data warehousing principles.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI/CD tools (Terraform, Git, Jenkins).
• Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with real-time data processing and streaming architectures.
• Exposure to machine learning pipelines or data platform automation.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience integrating data visualization and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Strong project leadership skills and ability to drive initiatives independently.
