Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Department: SME (Small & Medium Enterprises)
Hierarchy Level: Managerial
Gender Preference: Male
Salary Range: ₹4 – ₹8 LPA

Job Brief:

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager to lead our sales operations in the SME finance vertical. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking and finance, specifically in Cash Credit (CC), Overdraft (OD), and Term Loan products. This role demands a professional with at least 5 years of marketing experience, 2+ years of credit product knowledge, and 2 years of team management experience.

The ASM will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing a sales team, acquiring clients, and building long-term business relationships in the assigned territory.

Primary Responsibilities:Sales Management:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed targets for CC, OD, and Term Loan products.
  • Source new business opportunities through open market initiatives.
  • Continuously expand the customer base by identifying potential leads and business sectors.
  • Track and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Conduct market research to tailor sales pitches and optimize conversion.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a team of sales executives, ensuring high productivity and motivation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and training to improve team capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative, target-driven work culture with a strong customer focus.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, addressing their business needs effectively.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while handling client queries and complaints.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional financial products.

Marketing and Promotions:

  • Utilize 5+ years of marketing expertise to design and implement campaigns that boost product visibility and penetration.
  • Coordinate with internal marketing teams to develop impactful promotional material and outreach strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: MBA (mandatory) and CA (mandatory)
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years in handling Cash Credit, Overdraft, and Term Loans
  • Minimum 5 years in Marketing within the finance or banking sector
  • Minimum 2 years in team management
  • Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent knowledge of banking and financial products
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage field sales operations effectively
