Job Description

As a Vendor Manager in the logistics industry, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential vendors and suppliers through market research. You will assess vendors based on specific criteria such as capabilities, capacity, quality standards, financial stability, and track record. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will align vendor selection with their requirements. Your role will also involve negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to ensure cost efficiency and value for the company. Establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with vendors is crucial, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. Monitoring vendor compliance with contractual obligations, service level agreements, and quality standards will be part of your responsibilities. In terms of vendor performance management, you will define and implement performance metrics and KPIs to assess vendor performance regularly. Conducting periodic performance reviews, addressing issues, and identifying improvement areas will be essential. Collaboration with vendors to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize service levels is key. Vendor risk management is another critical aspect of your role. You will identify and mitigate potential risks associated with vendor relationships, developing risk mitigation strategies and alternative sourcing options. Staying updated with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies related to logistics and vendor management is vital. Conducting benchmarking exercises to compare vendor performance against industry standards is also part of your responsibilities. Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as operations, procurement, and finance teams is essential. Providing support and guidance on vendor-related matters, fostering effective communication and collaboration, will be part of your role. As a successful candidate, you must be fluent in Hindi and hold a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications are advantageous. With a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in vendor management, sourcing, or procurement within the logistics or supply chain industry, you should have strong knowledge of logistics operations, vendor evaluation methodologies, and negotiation strategies. Excellent analytical skills, the ability to interpret data for decision-making, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the capacity to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders are crucial. Familiarity with logistics platforms, software, and tools is preferred. A proactive and results-oriented mindset, the ability to work independently, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are also essential traits for this role.,
