Job Description

Must to have : Basic Linux Administration:
Perform L2-level tasks such as user management, file system checks, disk usage monitoring, and service restarts.
Monitoring and Alerts Handling:
Monitor Linux servers and data centre infrastructure using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or OEM. Acknowledge and escalate critical alerts as per SOP.
Physical Hardware Support:
Assist in racking/stacking of servers, replacing faulty hardware components (HDD, RAM, NIC, etc.) under guidance.
Server Health Checks:
Conduct daily/weekly health checks on Linux systems, data centre environmental metrics (temperature, power, humidity), and report anomalies.
Remote Console Operations:
Use IPMI/iLO/DRAC or remote console tools for server access and troubleshooting during boot-level issues.
Ticketing System Usage:
Log, update, and close incidents, service requests, and change requests using tools like ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira.
Patch Coordination and Support:
Assist in patch management activities upload patches, initiate scripts under senior guidance, verify system status post-patch.
Inventory & Asset Management:
Maintain inventory records of servers, network devices, cables, and other data centre equipment.
Cabling and Connectivity Checks:
Perform basic network and power cable tracing, label management, and connectivity troubleshooting as per standards.
Backup Tape Management (if applicable):
Handle physical backup tapes mounting, unmounting, and shipping per data retention policies.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Follow defined SOPs for routine operations, escalations, and maintenance tasks.
Coordination and Communication:
Liaise with L2/L3 teams, vendors, and facility teams to ensure timely issue resolution and support during planned maintenance windows.
