Solar Cost Estimation

Role & responsibilities

• Possess sound knowledge of

  Solar project activities

  including module mounting structures, foundations, cabling, inverter installation, and associated civil and electrical works.
• Assist the Estimation Manager in completing estimation activities and bid preparations.
  
• Analyze drawings, technical specifications, and other project documents to determine time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  
• Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of materials, equipment, and services, and track costs relative to bids as projects progress.
  
• Prepare estimates and reports used by management for planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and project/construction teams to finalize estimates and resolve queries.
  
• Prepare estimates to support vendor/subcontractor selection and negotiations.
  
• Review material and manpower requirements to determine the most cost-effective sourcing and deployment strategies.
  
• Prepare periodic cost and expenditure statements and maintain necessary estimation documentation.
  
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier and subcontractor database.
  
• Set up and manage cost monitoring and reporting systems and processes.
  
• Manage the tendering process and assist in bid compilation and submission.
  
• Conduct site visits to gather data on materials, labor, and environmental conditions influencing costs.
  
• Interpret solar plant layouts, SLDs, and technical documents to prepare accurate estimates.
  
• Recommend methods to enhance cost efficiency and project profitability.
  
• Maintain daily records of material consumption and review progress against planned metrics.
  
• Monitor project progress and prepare MIS reports accordingly

Preferred candidate profile

• Good Team player.
• Construction/field experience and project management skills.
• Exceptional communications skills written and verbal.

Education :

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed college.
• PG from NICMAR is preferred.

Experience :

• B Tech / BE candidate - 8+ years experience.
