A Software Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. The role involves identifying bugs, validating functionality, and ensuring that the product meets business and technical requirements before release.

Key Responsibilities

Review and understand software requirements and specifications
Create and execute test cases, test plans, and test scenarios
Perform manual testing and basic automation testing (if applicable)
Identify, log, and track defects using bug tracking tools
Work closely with developers to resolve issues
Perform regression, functional, integration, and system testing
Validate UI/UX, performance, and security aspects of applications
Prepare test reports and documentation
Participate in requirement review and sprint planning meetings

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
Understanding of SDLC models (Agile, Waterfall)
Familiarity with bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)
Basic knowledge of SQL and databases
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of automation tools (Selenium, TestNG, Cypress, etc.)
Understanding of API testing (Postman, Swagger)
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
