Odoo architecture, Python development

Role & responsibilities

1. Odoo System Maintenance & Support

• Monitor, maintain, and support the

  Odoo E-Commerce platform

  and associated backend modules (Sales, Inventory, CRM, Accounting, Website).
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, functional, or integration issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure smooth synchronization between e-commerce and ERP modules.
• Perform regular Odoo updates, patching, and version upgrades (Community/Enterprise).

2. Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis

• Investigate bugs, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
• Coordinate with end-users to gather issue details and provide effective resolutions.
• Maintain logs, documentation, and resolution histories using ITSM/ticketing tools.

3. Enhancement & Optimization

• Implement minor customizations or improvements in Odoo (Python, XML, QWeb, JavaScript).
• Optimize workflows, data models, and system configurations for performance and usability.
• Support deployment of new features, modules, and integrations.

4. Integration & API Management

• Maintain and support integrations with third-party applications such as:
• Payment gateways (PayPal, Stripe, Razorpay, etc.)
• Shipping/logistics APIs
• CRM, POS, or external reporting tools
• Monitor data consistency between connected systems and Odoo.

5. Security & Compliance

• Apply Odoo security best practices, manage user access rights, and enforce data protection standards.
• Ensure compliance with e-commerce and ERP data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).

6. Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and the development team.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration guides.
• Communicate updates, incidents, and resolutions effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

3+ years of experience in project or product management, with ODOO platforms is must.

• Proven experience managing website development projects and collaborating with outsourced teams.
• Experience managing transitions to custom-built platforms is a strong plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in

  Odoo version migration

  (e.g., v13 v17).
• Familiarity with

  Odoo.sh

  ,

  Odoo Studio

  , or

  custom module development

  .
• Knowledge of

  payment and logistics API integration

  .
• Experience using

  monitoring tools

  (Grafana, Datadog, Odoo logs).
• Understanding of

  front-end customization

  using Odoo themes, HTML, and CSS.
