Job Description

Bachelor's degree in computer science, MCA, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience designing and managing Asterisk-based telephony systems.Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, IAX2, and VoIP protocols.Hands-on experience with Asterisk configuration, dialplan scripting, and AGI/ARI development.Knowledge of Linux (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu) administration.Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT) and QoS tuning for VoIP.Familiarity with call recording, IVR systems, voicemail, and conferencing.Proficiency with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, sngrep, tcpdump).Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.

The essence of the role

Voice Architect

Who are you?

  • Architect, design, and deploy

    Asterisk-based VoIP solutions for enterprise and service provider environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize

    dialplans

    , SIP configurations, and call routing logic.
  • Integrate Asterisk with

    databases, APIs, CRMs, call center platforms

    , and other telephony systems.
  • Perform

    capacity planning

    , scalability assessments, and high-availability architecture design.
  • Implement

    SIP trunking

    , VoIP gateways, and interconnects with carriers.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot

    call quality, latency, jitter, and packet loss

    issues.
  • Create and maintain

    technical documentation, SOPs, and system diagrams

    .
  • Collaborate with

    network, security, and application teams

    to ensure seamless integration and compliance.
  • Evaluate and implement

    security best practices

    for VoIP, including TLS/SRTP, authentication, and fraud prevention.
  • Stay current with

    Asterisk updates, new modules, and VoIP technology trends

    .
  • Architect and deploy a

    scalable SIP-based dialer infrastructure

    supporting more then 5,000+ concurrent calls.
  • Have successfully integrate AI-based voice bots for automated outbound call flows.
  • Have design and implement a custom monitoring stack with

    Prometheus, Grafana, and Homer

    for real-time SIP traffic visibility.
  • Need to mentor junior engineers and helped upskill them in

    Asterisk, Kamailio, and SIP protocol

    handling.
  • Play a key role in telecom vendor evaluation and onboarding, reducing operational costs

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in

    computer science, MCA, Telecommunications, or related field

    (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years

    of experience designing and managing

    Asterisk-based telephony systems

    .
  • Strong understanding of

    SIP, RTP, IAX2

    , and VoIP protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with

    Asterisk configuration, dialplan scripting, and AGI/ARI development

    .
  • Knowledge of

  • Experience with

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with

    FreePBX, Issabel, FreeSWITCH or other Asterisk-based distributions

    SBCs (Session Border Controllers)

    and VoIP security frameworks.
  • Scripting/programming skills (

    Linux,Python, Perl, Bash, PHP

    ).
  • Familiarity with

    containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

    for Asterisk deployment.
  • Exposure to

    cloud-based telephony platforms

    and APIs (Twilio, AWS Chime, etc.).
