Job Description

Core IP Subject Matter Expert (SME)

real-time network operations

Key Responsibilities

Core IP Incident & Fault Management

  • Own and lead

    P1 / P2 / Special incidents

    impacting

    Core / ISP IP networks

  • Drive end-to-end restoration within SLA through deep

    IP troubleshooting

  • Act as

    incident commander

    during major outages and bridge calls
  • Ensure timely escalations, stakeholder updates, and service restoration

Core IP Network Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot issues across

    Core, Aggregation, Edge, and DC IP networks

  • Hands-on troubleshooting of

    BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VRF, HSRP / VRRP

  • Analyze service impact on

    Voice, Data, Enterprise, Internet, VPN services

  • Work in

    multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia)

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Experience

  • 10+ years

    in Telecom / ISP / Enterprise IP Networks

  • 5+ years

    in

    Core IP Incident / Fault Management

  • Strong experience handling

    P1/P2 incidents

    in 247 environments

Core IP Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • Routing:

      BGP, OSPF, IS-IS

    • MPLS:

      L3VPN, L2VPN, VRF, MP-BGP

    • High Availability:

      HSRP, VRRP
  • Strong understanding of

    ISP / Core IP architecture and service flows

Vendor & Tools

  • Experience on

    Cisco / Juniper / Nokia

    IP platforms
  • Familiarity with NMS / monitoring and ticketing tools

Process & Communication

  • ITIL Foundation (v3/v4)

    Mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills during high-pressure outages
  • Ability to handle multiple incidents simultaneously

Good to Have

  • Exposure to

    Data Center IP technologies

    (VXLAN / EVPN operational level)
  • Automation exposure (scripts, tools, or workflow automation)
  • ISO audit or compliance experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in

    Engineering / IT / Computer Science

    or equivalent

  • ITIL Foundation certification

    required
