Job Description

About a role:

As a Site Uptime Specialist, you're part of the front line defending user experience, revenue, and reputation. Youll collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and support teams to maintain high service availability and fast recovery from any disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring & Incident Response:

Monitor site and service health using tools like
Datadog, Pingdom, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or PagerDuty
.
Detect and respond to system alerts, performance degradations, and downtime in real-time.
Manage and escalate critical incidents to appropriate engineering or support teams.

Availability & Reliability Management:

Maintain uptime across production environments, following defined SLAs and SLOs.
Work with DevOps/SRE to implement failover strategies, redundancy, and auto-scaling.
Contribute to system hardening, performance tuning, and disaster recovery plans.

Root Cause Analysis & Post-Mortems:

Conduct root cause analyses (RCAs) and collaborate in writing post-incident reports.
Identify and track recurring issues, propose permanent fixes, and improve observability.

Automation & Optimization:

Support the automation of monitoring, alerting, and remediation workflows.
Assist in maintaining health check systems, cron jobs, and scheduled tasks.
Recommend improvements to reduce alert fatigue and increase alert quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or microservices architectures.
Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (e.g.,
Bash, Python, PowerShell
).
Exposure to infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
ITIL or SRE certification is a plus.
