Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer

Work Schedule: Candidates need to be available on Saturday and Sunday, with two weekdays off in the middle of the week.

Work Location: 100% onsite candidate can work from any CTS office in India.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of industry experience in wireless site reliability engineering, wireless network operations, or related areas.
• Solid understanding of underlying network and security components leveraged in wireless networks.

Core Responsibilities

• Wireless Protocols and Standards: Expert-level knowledge in 802.11ac/802.11ax and related standards including WPA, RADIUS, EAP, and 802.1X.
• Wireless Access Points & Controllers: Strong experience with WLAN controllers, particularly Mist Wireless.
• RF Design & Troubleshooting: Skilled in RF fundamentals, site surveys, spectrum analysis, and interference mitigation.
• Ability to build and interpret wireless heatmaps, tune for scalability and high availability, and optimize wireless networks for events.
• Networking Expertise: Deep knowledge of TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, VPN, L2 switching, and proven background in network operations.
• Programming & Scripting: Hands-on experience in one or more: Python, Perl, Bash for automation and operational efficiency.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, Nautobot/Netbox, Netdisco.
• System Administration: Strong fundamentals in Linux administration (preferred).
• Problem-Solving & Communication: Systematic troubleshooting ability, with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Automation & Operations: Proven track record in leveraging operational signals (SNMP, Syslog, synthetics) to solve real-world challenges.
• Experience building or using synthetics (e.g., UXI, Signal7, Wyebot) for wireless availability and user experience monitoring.
• Code Optimization: Ability to debug, optimize, and automate operational tasks.
• Platform Exposure: Experience with Mellanox/Cumulus or Linux, Mist Wireless, Cisco Wireless.
• Security Awareness: Hands-on experience with WLAN security platforms such as Cisco ISE.
• Previous SRE Experience: Demonstrated success in applying SRE principles to wireless and network operations.
