Job Description

As a member of the APM Terminals team, your key responsibilities will include building strong and lasting relationships with all stakeholders within the customers" organization. You will be required to ensure that all customer issues and queries are attended to promptly, with minimal escalations. Establishing a relationship-based customer service delivery model will be essential, working collaboratively with the team to achieve top quartile results in customer experience and fostering an owner mindset for the Business. You will be responsible for studying the annual volume forecasts developed by the demand planning team of the customer, creating baseline spend at overall and transport mode levels using the customer demand forecast, and planning for additional capacity/RFQ in coordination with the Customer team. Taking ownership of the entire RFQ process from RFI to RFP to RFQ across transport modes will be a critical aspect of your role. Additionally, you will be tasked with performing regular vendor evaluations based on set performance measures aligned with the customer and partnering with the customer purchase/procurement team to evaluate RFQ/tender/spot quote submissions, offers, and negotiating on behalf of the customer. This includes recommending service providers based on performance, service level, and cost. You will also be responsible for the closure of the RFQ process with each service provider through award of business processes such as service agreement signings and onboarding programs, as well as owning the exception procurement approval process. Collaboration with overseas customer offices on shipment prioritization matrices and carrier allocation, as well as coordinating exports processes across transport modes - Ocean, Air, LCL - from cargo readiness and booking to BL release stage, will be integral parts of your role. Team management will also be a key responsibility, involving identifying and developing talent within the team, leading by example for team members, monitoring team KPIs, and taking corrective actions, proper delegation of work among team members, training for new team members, identifying areas of revenue leakages, and driving commercials and profits at the customer level. To be successful in this role, you should have a background in Supply Chain Management with a proper understanding of international supply chains and a minimum of 5 years of work experience from operational roles in the logistics industry.
