Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Site Engineer (E&M / Depot) will assist Chief Design & Chief Resident Engineer (Elevated Station & Depot E&M) with the following broad tasks:

Design & Planning Review:

  • Review and supplement detailed project reports/concept reports and all available design reports.
  • Conduct input data review and analysis, and contribute to preliminary design.
  • Assist in the preparation of preliminary design and tenders for elevated portions/stations and service buildings.
  • Assist in the preparation of Tender Documents for the procurement of system, rolling stock, and depot equipment.
  • Review detailed design and construction designs.

Supervision & Monitoring:

  • Provide assistance in the supervision and monitoring of E&M works on the corridor line.
  • Coordinate with the GEC (General Engineering Consultant), GMRCL (Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited), and Contractor teams.
  • Ensure project execution adheres to the highest quality and safety frameworks.
  • Oversee construction activities as per approved Good For Construction (GFC) drawings.
  • Manage overall site operations for E&M aspects.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Handle client/management reporting and documentation.
  • Certify the quality of work completed.

Interface & Issue Management:

  • Coordinate interfaces with civil and system contractors.
  • Manage the issuance and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Site Operations & Verification:

  • Handle day-to-day planning of construction activities.
  • Verify and certify contractor bills.
  • Identify traffic requirements during construction and site obstructions.
  • Process variations and change orders.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality observations.
  • Ensure construction at the site adheres to the approved method statement.

Testing & Commissioning:

  • Provide assistance in Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other work specifically mentioned in the Terms of Reference.
