Site Assembly Technician

Job Title: Site Engineer – Assembly & Commissioning Job Summary The Site Engineer – Assembly & Commissioning is responsible for supervising on-site assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment and systems in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines. The role ensures smooth coordination between engineering, contractors, and clients to deliver fully operational systems. Key Responsibilities Supervise and execute on-site assembly and installation of mechanical/electrical systems and equipment Ensure commissioning activities are carried out according to approved procedures and technical standards Interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documents Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, contractors, and vendors Conduct pre-commissioning checks, testing, and troubleshooting of systems Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations at site Prepare commissioning reports, checklists, and as-built documentation Monitor site progress and report issues, delays, or deviations Support client inspections, FAT/SAT, and handover activities Provide technical guidance to technicians and subcontractors Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials on site Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Proven experience in site assembly and commissioning activities Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems and installation practices Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Knowledge of safety standards and site work procedures Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Effective communication and coordination abilities Willingness to travel or work at project sites as required Experience 2–5 years of experience in site engineering, assembly, and commissioning Experience in industrial plants, infrastructure projects, machinery installation, or similar environments is preferred Working Conditions Site-based role with possible extended hours during commissioning phases Exposure to industrial and construction environments Reporting To Project Manager / Engineering Manager If you want, I can customize this for: Mechanical-only or Electrical-only roles Power plants, automation, HVAC, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects Junior / Senior / Lead Site Engineer level
