Job Title: Simulation Engineer (Experience in motional Triage) – Autonomous Driving (US Road Rules & Lidar Expertise) Location: Kolkata About the Role: We’re seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Simulation Engineer with hands-on experience in autonomous driving simulations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of US road regulations, Lidar systems, path planning, and waypoint optimization within simulation environments. Key Responsibilities: Develop, configure, and manage autonomous driving simulation scenarios. Ensure adherence to US road rules and traffic regulations within simulated environments. Leverage Lidar data for accurate environment perception and simulation accuracy. Implement path planning algorithms, including strategic waypoint placement considering road layouts, traffic laws, and dynamic obstacles. Maintain awareness of speed limits and road conditions while configuring simulation scenarios. Suggest and optimize waypoint placements for efficient and safe autonomous navigation. Collaborate with perception, mapping, and motion planning teams to enhance simulation realism and vehicle behavior models. Troubleshoot and refine simulation scenarios based on test results and stakeholder feedback. Key Requirements: Proven experience with autonomous vehicle simulations and virtual environment management. Strong understanding of US road traffic rules and driving conventions . Expertise in Lidar systems , point cloud data interpretation, and environment mapping. Familiarity with path planning techniques and motion planning frameworks. Hands-on driving experience and practical understanding of road dynamics. Ability to analyze, suggest, and implement optimal waypoint placements in varied scenarios. Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., CARLA, LGSVL, or similar) is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or related field . Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System), Python, or C++.
