About the Role

actually build and optimize Shopify stores

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and optimize Shopify themes using

  Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  .
• Build

  custom sections, templates, and metafield-driven components

  .
• Improve

  store speed, Core Web Vitals, and Lighthouse scores

  .
• Create or modify

  Shopify Scripts / Functions

  for discounts, checkout logic, and custom workflows.
• Integrate and configure

  Shopify apps

  , or replace them with custom code where apps are bloated or unnecessary.
• Work with

  Shopify Admin API and Storefront API

  to build custom functionality or headless components.
• Troubleshoot theme bugs, app conflicts, and UX issues quickly and systematically.
• Collaborate with design and marketing teams to implement high-conversion UI/UX.
• Maintain clean, documented, scalable code—no spaghetti.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5+ years

  of hands-on Shopify development (Liquid + APIs).
• Strong understanding of

  Shopify theme architecture

  and the Online Store 2.0 methodology.
• Proficiency in

  JavaScript (ES6+), JSON, REST APIs, Git

  .
• Experience with

  performance optimization

  (lazy loading, minimizing render-blocking scripts, etc.).
• Ability to debug across Chrome DevTools and Shopify’s theme editor.
• Familiarity with

  Shopify Functions

  (Rust-based) is a big advantage; at minimum, Scripts knowledge.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with

  Headless Shopify

  (Next.js, Hydrogen, Remix).
• Knowledge of ecommerce CRO fundamentals.
• Comfort working with Figma designs and turning them into pixel-perfect builds.
