As we expand our presence across India and globally, we are looking for a Shopify Developer who can help elevate our website experience to match the depth and elegance of our brand. Key Responsibilities:

Website Management: Maintain and update Aankona’s Shopify storefront, ensuring smooth navigation, clean product listings, and a visually consistent user experience across devices.

Theme Customisation: Make thoughtful changes to Shopify themes (using Liquid, HTML/CSS) to support seasonal drops, campaigns, and design improvements — while preserving performance and brand aesthetics.

App & Plugin Integration: Recommend, install, and manage third-party Shopify apps for features like wishlist, product filters, back-in-stock alerts, and advanced image zoom.

Speed & Mobile Optimization: Conduct monthly performance audits and implement best practices to reduce load times, especially for mobile users. Ensure key pages are lightweight, responsive, and glitch-free.

Product & Collection Handling: Collaborate with the content team to add new products, update collections, and create custom landing pages for campaigns (e.g., Festive Edits, Wedding Gifting, etc.).

Checkout & UX Improvements: Monitor and refine the checkout flow, implement small UX upgrades like trust badges, size guides, or delivery timelines where needed.

SEO & Structural Hygiene: Support on-page SEO by maintaining clean URLs, descriptive alt tags, structured page titles, and updating sitemaps when necessary.

Testing & Maintenance: Proactively test key features (menu, cart, filters, wishlist) to catch bugs or usability issues before they affect customers.

Collaboration: Work closely with the design, content, and brand teams to ensure every website update reflects the brand’s tone, craft, and seasonal direction.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: 2+ years working with Shopify, ideally for fashion, lifestyle, or D2C e-commerce brands with a design-first approach.

Platform Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Shopify theme editing, Liquid templating, and basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Familiarity with Shopify apps, integrations, and dashboard tools.

Attention to Detail: Sharp eye for layout, spacing, image quality, and UX best practices — especially for mobile responsiveness.

Problem-Solving: Able to troubleshoot bugs, identify layout inconsistencies, and suggest improvements that enhance performance and user flow.

Organised Workflow: Capable of managing website tasks across multiple product cycles, drops, and updates — with version control and clean handovers.

Communication: Able to coordinate smoothly with content, design, and brand teams to ensure timely implementation of updates or fixes.

Self-Driven: Works independently with a clear sense of ownership and accountability. Capable of maintaining the backend without constant supervision.

Work Expectations & Policies:

Performance Review: Monthly reviews will be conducted to evaluate task completion, website hygiene, update accuracy, and responsiveness to priority requests. Continued engagement will depend on consistent quality, turnaround time, and communication.

Trial Period: The first two months will serve as a probationary period. During this time, Aankona reserves the right to discontinue the engagement if performance is found to be unsatisfactory. After the probation ends, the team will review your contribution to determine whether to continue working together. Aankona’s decision will be final, and the brand will remain indemnified from any claims or liabilities related to non-continuation.

Communication & Timelines: Timely updates on tasks, plugin checks, layout changes, or any blockers are expected. Work should be delivered within agreed timelines, and any delays must be communicated proactively.

Platform Proficiency Required: Strong working knowledge of Shopify (including theme customisation and app integrations) is essential. Familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Shopify Analyzer, and basic web performance testing tools is expected.

Confidentiality: All access credentials, technical work, and backend activities related to Aankona must remain strictly confidential and cannot be shared or reused for any other client or purpose.

Work Ownership: All code customisations, plugin setups, and backend configurations developed during this engagement will remain the exclusive intellectual property of Aankona.
