Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior US Accountant, located in Kolkata. The Senior US Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including the preparation of financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and reconciling accounts. The role involves ensuring compliance with US GAAP, conducting detailed financial analysis, and generating financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and full-cycle bookkeeping
• Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes and prepare working papers
• Prepare and analyse financial statements accurately
• Support internal and external audits effectively
• Handle accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and maintain client communication
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and accounting policies

Qualifications & Skills:

• 4+ years of accounting experience (experience with US clients preferred)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Familiarity with accounting software like Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage (preferred)
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting principles
• Experience in reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.
