Senior Tools Programmer

Context

As our studio develops AAA action-adventure games inspired by Indian epics, we are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Tools Programmer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing various tools that enhance our game development pipeline, ensuring an engaging and responsive development experience. Your expertise will directly contribute to streamlining workflows and improving overall efficiency within the studio.

Responsibilities:

• Tools Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and user-friendly tools for the game development pipeline using C#, WPF, C++, and scripting languages. This includes creating tools that integrate seamlessly with our existing game mechanics, frameworks, and content creation workflows.
• Collaboration & Integration: Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and programmers to proactively identify their pain points and translate them into intuitive, efficient tools and automations that empower the team.
• Scalability & Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the adoption of best practices in Tools development.
• Pipeline Optimization: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development pipeline through tool-driven solutions, enhancing productivity and quality across the studio.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Senior Tools Programmer within the game development industry.
• Strong proficiency in C#, WPF, C++, and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Lua).
• Demonstrable experience in developing a variety of tools for game development pipelines (e.g., asset management, build systems, content creation tools, editor extensions).
• Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills, with a keen eye for optimizing workflows.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively gather requirements and provide solutions to diverse team members.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 (e.g., custom editor tools, Blueprint extensions).
• Familiarity with AAA action-adventure game development pipelines and challenges.

Your Future Team:

You will join a dynamic project team of over 100 individuals (including Gameplay Programmers, Designers, Artists, etc.) from multiple countries (Europe, Canada, USA...). This collaborative environment offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an exciting new IP.

• Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Recruitment process:

1. First conversation (20 min) by video call with Arthur (Recruiter) and Tushar (Lead Tech): To learn more about your experience, your expectations and Novaquark

2. Technical test (30 min) sent 30min before the Technical Interview.

3. Technical interview (1 hour) via video call with Tushar (Lead Tech), Alexandre (Lead Tools Programmer) and Mathieu (Tools Programmer): To assess your technical skills and talk about your test

Arthur will ensure follow-up and coordination.
