Senior Tools Programmer

As a Tools Programmer (Unreal) at LightFury, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality, efficient, and scalable tools for our AAA games using Unreal Engine. You will work closely with the programming team, designers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement tools that meet the project's artistic and technical requirements. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining tools for our AAA games using Unreal Engine, collaborating with the programming team and designers to implement tools like level editors and asset importers, working on tools related to game mechanics, AI, and physics in collaboration with the design team, troubleshooting and optimizing tool-related issues, developing technical documentation for tools and pipelines, and ensuring timely delivery of tools meeting game requirements. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine architecture, proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine's C++ API, experience with Unreal Engine's Blueprints visual scripting system, and familiarity with tools and features of Unreal Engine like the Material Editor and Animation Blueprint. Additionally, you should possess expertise in developing and maintaining high-quality, efficient tools for game development, knowledge of software development principles, and familiarity with game development pipelines and tools like Perforce and Git. The qualifications required for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming, experience with game engines including Unreal Engine, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. Desirable skills that would be beneficial for this role include experience with multi-threading and parallel processing, knowledge of computer graphics and rendering techniques, experience with physics engines like PhysX and Havok, and familiarity with game development pipelines and tools such as Perforce and Git.
