Senior Steward

Job Summary:

The Senior Steward is responsible for supervising and participating in the day-to-day cleaning and sanitation operations of the kitchen and back-of-house areas. With leadership and experience, the Senior Steward ensures high hygiene standards, oversees stewarding staff, and supports the kitchen and service team to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide stewarding staff during shifts.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and food preparation areas.
• Maintain dishwashing machines and ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Coordinate the collection, cleaning, and return of all kitchen and service ware.
• Ensure garbage is properly sorted, collected, and disposed of regularly and hygienically.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of floors, storage areas, and receiving zones.
• Schedule and assign duties to stewarding team members.
• Train new stewards on cleaning procedures, hygiene practices, and safety protocols.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
• Assist with setup and clearing during banquets or events, if required.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations (HACCP/ISO standards) are strictly followed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2–4 years of stewarding experience in a hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for long hours and lifting heavy items.
• Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Knowledge of dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
