Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Senior Steward to oversee the stewarding team and ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards are consistently maintained in all kitchen and dishwashing areas. The ideal candidate will support smooth kitchen operations by supervising cleaning schedules, managing stewarding staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead the stewarding team to ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas are clean and well-maintained.
  • Assign daily duties and ensure timely completion of tasks such as dishwashing, garbage disposal, and deep cleaning.
  • Monitor the use of cleaning supplies and chemicals; ensure proper handling and storage.
  • Ensure all hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards are strictly followed in compliance with health regulations.
  • Inspect cleanliness of kitchen and back-of-house areas regularly and take corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in storerooms, wash areas, and waste disposal areas.
  • Train and guide new stewards in proper cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
  • Report maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the Engineering or Kitchen team.
  • Assist in inventory checks for stewarding supplies and request replenishments as needed.
  • Coordinate with the culinary and service teams to support smooth F&B operations, especially during peak hours and banquets.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or hygiene certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in stewarding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Good knowledge of cleaning procedures, dishwashing equipment, and kitchen sanitation.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of HACCP or other food safety standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Physically demanding; requires lifting, bending, and standing for long hours.
  • Work involves exposure to heat, wet floors, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be available for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹19,000.00 per month
