Senior Solution Consultant ,Data Quality and Governance (Alation)

About the Role

Senior Solution Consultant

You will help organizations accelerate self-service analytics, enforce active data governance, and build trust in data through comprehensive lineage and cataloging capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive customer engagement activities: discovery workshops, tailored Alation demonstrations, solution scoping, and solution design.
• Design and deliver end-to-end Alation implementations (metadata ingestion, technical/operational/business lineage, governance policies, stewardship workflows, search & curation).
• Lead proof-of-concept (POC) projects through to successful production rollout and user adoption.
• Advise clients on Alation best practices, integrations with leading data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, AWS/Azure/GCP), DQ Tools (Ataccama) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Collaborate with sales on RFI/RFP responses, value propositions, and executive-level presentations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to delivery teams and contribute to internal accelerators, templates, and thought leadership content.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 full end-to-end Alation implementations

  (from scoping to production go-live and adoption) covering:
• Alation Data Catalog setup and metadata connectors
• Comprehensive Data Lineage (technical, operational, and business lineage)
• Active Data Governance features (policy center, stewardship, access controls, data quality rules)
• 6+ years in data management / data governance, with at least 3 years in solution architecture, or professional services roles for data catalog/governance platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Alation administration, OCF connectors, API integrations, query log ingestion, search relevance tuning, and Compose.
• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM), metadata management, data quality, and compliance requirements (GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239, etc.).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging data stewards, CDOs, and technical architects.

Strongly Preferred

• Practical experience integrating

  Alation with Ataccama

  (e.g., data quality rule sync, stewardship workflows, bidirectional metadata flow).
• Additional integrations with Collibra, Informatica DQ/EDC, Microsoft Purview, or Alations Allie AI features.
• Alation Ranger/Champion certification or equivalent deep product training.
