Senior Service Engineer – IT Infrastructure & Security

Job Title: Senior Service Engineer – IT Infrastructure & Security Overview The Senior Service Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT infrastructure and security systems for the organisation and its clients. This role involves hands-on work with UTM devices, firewalls, switches, and routers to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance network operations. The Senior Service Engineer will work closely with internal IT teams and external clients to provide timely solutions, implement best practices, and maintain system stability. Responsibilities and Duties: IT Infrastructure & Security Management Install, configure, and maintain UTM devices, firewalls, switches, and routers. Implement and update firewall rules, VLAN configurations, and security policies. Ensure optimal performance and uptime of all IT and security devices. Network & Security Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve hardware, network, and configuration issues. Monitor device logs for anomalies or potential security concerns. Perform preventive maintenance to avoid downtime. Client Support & Service Provide onsite and remote technical support to clients. Respond to service requests and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs. Document service activities, configurations, and resolutions. Implementation & Upgrades Assist in deploying new network solutions and security devices. Configure network segmentation, VPNs, and security filters as per requirements. Support migrations, firmware updates, and patch deployments. Compliance & Best Practices Follow standard operating procedures and security best practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT security tools and technologies. Train users on basic network security practices when required. Skills and Qualifications Diploma/Degree/B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Hands-on experience with UTM, firewall configuration, VLAN, switching, and routing. Experience with Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco, SonicWall, and Juniper devices. Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, DHCP, and DNS. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Good communication and client interaction abilities. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of advanced network security principles. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Juniper JNCIA). Working Conditions Field-based role with travel to client locations.
