About The Role

We are seeking a Senior SDE (Management-Focused) who will act as a strategic guide, mentor, and recruitment partner for our development team. Unlike a purely coding role, this position emphasizes team leadership, technical direction, and junior developer growth.The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Python and related technologies but will primarily focus on mentorship, strategy, and recruitment rather than day-to-day coding. This freelance, remote role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to shape the growth of a strong technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Mentorship & Strategy
• Guide and mentor junior developers, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and problem-solving.
• Create structured learning paths, coding standards, and SOPs to accelerate junior team growth.
• Provide technical direction, ensuring scalability, security, and performance in team deliverables.
• Recruitment Support
• Collaborate with management to define skill requirements for SDE developers.
• Design coding challenges, interview processes, and evaluation rubrics for candidates.
• Conduct technical interviews and assess candidate fit (both technical and cultural).
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience as SDE with backend technologies (with at least 2 years in team leadership or mentorship roles).
• Strong understanding of backend frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI) and modern development practices.
• Proven ability to mentor, guide, and build strategies for junior developers.
• Prior experience in technical recruitment (screening, interviews, test creation).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with flexible hours in a remote environment.
