Job Summary

Novumgen is seeking an experienced senior scientist with expertise in both upstream and downstream processing to join our biologics team. The role involves operating bioreactors, executing protein purification techniques, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in biosimilars, bioprocess technology, and hands-on experience with advanced analytical methods.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate bioreactors (1L, 10L, 100L) under sterile conditions to ensure contamination-free batch trials.
• Prepare sterile media, feeds, and buffers using filtration/autoclave methods.
• Perform CIP & SIP of bioreactors and ensure calibration/readiness of equipment.
• Execute downstream processing techniques, including HPLC (affinity, AEX, CEX, and SEC chromatography).
• Conduct protein purification and estimation (protein assays, SDS-PAGE, ELISA/radioimmunoassay, and Western blotting).
• Collect, analyze, and document experimental data; prepare reports for supervisor review.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate day-to-day lab activities.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Maintain a stock of chemicals, consumables, and glassware to avoid workflow disruptions.
• Coordinate procurement of required materials within timelines.
• Handle email communication, task planning, and clarification of technical queries.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of bioprocess technology and upstream and downstream operations.
• Proven experience in biosimilars and handling regulatory audits (USFDA, EMEA).
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology / M.Tech in Biotechnology with 6–10 years of relevant experience, OR
• Ph.D. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
