Location: Raipur, ChhattisgarhExperience: 6–12 yearsIndustry: Beauty, Personal Care, CosmeticsReporting to: CRO / Head of R&D⸻Role SummaryWe are looking for a Senior R&D professional with strong hands-on experience in BPC formulation and process development to lead product development from concept to scale-up. This role requires deep understanding of raw materials, ingredient compatibility, emulsification, blending, stability, and manufacturing processes, along with the nuance of formulation science—knowing not just what to combine, but how and why.You will work closely with production, QC, sourcing, regulatory, and brand teams to develop high-performance, safe, and scalable products aligned to RAS’ clean beauty philosophy.⸻Key ResponsibilitiesFormulation & Product Development
- Lead end-to-end formulation for skincare, haircare & bodycare products.
- Decide correct ingredient selection, sequencing, blending methods, and processing conditions.
- Understand which materials work together, which don’t, and why (compatibility, pH, temperature, shear, solubility, stability).
- Translate lab formulas into manufacturing-ready batch processes.
Process & Scale-Up Excellence
- Create and validate manufacturing SOPs for bulk making, heating, cooling, homogenisation, filling, and packing.
- Support pilot batches, scale-up trials, and bulk production debugging.
- Control wastage, yield losses, batch failures, and process inefficiencies.
Raw Material & Blending Expertise
- Deep knowledge of:
- Oils, butters, waxes
- Emulsifiers, surfactants
- Actives, extracts, fragrances
- Preservative systems
- Guide correct material pairing, solubilisation, pre-mixes, dispersion methods, and temperature control.
Stability, Safety & Quality
- Design and oversee:
- Stability studies
- Compatibility tests
- Microbial challenge testing
- Ensure product safety, shelf life, and regulatory readiness.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Production for batch execution
- QC for in-process and final checks
- Purchase & Sourcing for RM approvals
- NPD & Brand for texture, sensorial, and performance feedback
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain:
- Formulation dossiers
- Batch records
- SOPs
- Stability & QC data
- Support regulatory submissions and audits from an R&D standpoint.

Qualifications
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc / M.Sc (Cosmetics, Chemistry, or related field)
- 6–12 years of hands-on R&D experience in Beauty & Personal Care
- Must have factory-floor formulation + scale-up exposure
- Strong understanding of:
- Cosmetic chemistry
- Emulsions, gels, surfactant systems
- Heat/cool processes
- Ingredient interactions & destabilization risks
