Senior Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities (BOQ) for civil engineering works.
• Analyze project drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costings.
• Manage project budgets, valuations, and cash flow forecasting.
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts.
• Monitor project progress and control costs to avoid overruns.
• Assess and process interim and final payments to contractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and defend claims, variations, and contractual disputes.
• Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and verify quantity measurements.
• Maintain proper documentation for cost and contractual records.
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions (FIDIC or local standard forms).
• Lead and mentor junior QS and commercial staff.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in quantity surveying within civil construction.
• Strong working knowledge of civil infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, drainage, bridges, etc.).
• Familiar with FIDIC or similar standard contracts.
• Proficient in cost control software and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Local authority and infrastructure project experience is a plus.
