Job Position : QA Engineer (Manual + Automation)
Job Location: Gurgaon/Mohali (Work From Office)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior QA Engineer with 4+ years of
expertise in manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on
experience with Selenium, TestNG, and programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python) for
automation. Solid knowledge of API testing, database validation (SQL & NoSQL), and Linux
command-line operations is essential. The candidate will also mentor junior QA engineers and
drive test automation strategies to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test
cases.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks using Selenium, TestNG, and
Java/JavaScript/Python.
- Drive API testing using tools such as Postman or REST-assured and validate backend
services.
- Perform backend validation using SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Utilize Linux commands for log analysis, server-side validations, and debugging test
environments.
- Mentor junior QA engineers, providing technical guidance, reviews, and training.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (developers, product owners, DevOps) to
ensure quality standards are met.
- Identify, report, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
- Advocate for QA best practices, continuous automation coverage, and process
improvements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to estimation, planning, and
retrospectives.
- Ensure robust test coverage across functional, regression, integration, and performance
testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in software testing (manual + automation).
- Strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver and TestNG.
- Proficient in programming with Java, JavaScript, and Python for test automation.
- Strong knowledge of API testing with Postman, REST-assured, or similar tools.
- Experience with backend testing using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on knowledge of Linux commands for QA activities (log analysis, process checks,
environment debugging).
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
- Experience designing scalable automation solutions and integrating them with CI/CD
pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring QA team
members.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
- Exposure to Playwright for web automation using JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience in mobile application testing (Android and/or iOS).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
- Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
- Experience with test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr, or Xray.
