Job Overview


We are hiring an experienced Senior Purchase Engineer for our client in MNC valve industry, based in Sriperumbudur. This is a full-time, mid-level position that requires a minimum of 4 years of work experience. The ideal candidate will excel in supplier management, quality and cost, and strategic sourcing, all of which are mandatory skills. If you have a strong foundation in cost reduction, contract management, and vendor development, we would like to hear from you.


Qualifications and Skills


  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a purchasing role within the valve or a similar industry is essential for this position.
  • Strong expertise in supplier management, with a focus on building and maintaining robust supplier relationships (Mandatory skill).
  • Experience in ensuring quality and managing costs effectively in line with business objectives (Mandatory skill).
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency (Mandatory skill).
  • Demonstrated skills in cost reduction techniques that have directly impacted company profitability.
  • Effective contract management skills, ensuring compliance and favorable terms to protect business interests.
  • Strong ability in vendor development to enhance the supply chain network and introduce competitive supplier options.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with sound negotiation skills are essential for success.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet established cost savings targets and improve efficiency.
  • Lead supplier evaluation and management to ensure alignment with company standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Engage in strategic negotiations to secure advantageous contract terms and contribute to sustained cost reductions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to streamline purchasing processes and resolve any procurement-related issues.
  • Drive vendor development initiatives to enhance the supplier network and increase competitiveness in sourcing.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and dynamics, making strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost-efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations in all purchasing activities.
