Senior Network Specialist

As a Senior Network Specialist based in Bangalore/Chennai with over 15 years of experience, your primary responsibility will be to design, plan, and execute large-scale WAN/SDWAN/LAN/WLAN projects from start to finish. You will be instrumental in translating architectural concepts into actionable steps for implementation. Additionally, you will lead and support engineering teams throughout all project phases, including design, implementation, migration, go-live, and maintenance. Your expertise will be crucial in selecting, deploying, and optimizing network technologies such as Cisco, Versa, and Aruba to ensure alignment with the organization's business objectives. You will serve as a subject matter expert during operational incidents, leading troubleshooting efforts, root-cause analysis, and recovery processes. Effective communication with cross-functional stakeholders globally will be essential as you convey design strategies, project status, and technical guidance clearly. To excel in this role, you are expected to have a solid background in enterprise network design and delivery, with a focus on software-defined and cloud networking for at least 5 years. A Bachelor's or Diploma in Engineering/CS/IT is required, along with certifications such as CCNP. Additional certifications like CCIE and Versa SDWAN Specialist are preferred. In terms of technical proficiency, you must demonstrate expertise in WAN, SDWAN (Cisco & Versa), LAN, and WLAN. Your mastery should extend to TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VxLAN, IPsec, QoS, GRE, as well as network virtualization, NFV, SASE, Umbrella, and Versa Secure Access. Familiarity with cloud networking concepts like Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and multicloud connectivity via Equinix/Megaport is advantageous. Knowledge of DNS/DHCP/IPAM, as well as WAF/CDN/DDOS solutions such as Infoblox, Zscaler, and Akamai, will be beneficial. Proficiency in using monitoring and management tools like Spectrum, SevOne, ThousandEyes, CyberArk, and MS Entra is required. Experience with scripting in Python is a plus. Your leadership and soft skills will play a vital role in this position, as you will be leading global projects and managing distributed teams.
